Kolkata Knight Riders vs Lucknow Supergiants, LSG Playing 11 vs KKR (Predicted), IPL 2022, Match 66, KKR vs LSG. Kolkata Knight Riders vs Lucknow Supergiants 66th IPL 2022 match is to be played on 18th May 2022, 19:30 IST at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. KKR would have to hope that RCB loses against GT and stay on 14 points and the winner of DC vs PBKS also loses their last game.

Lucknow Super Giants are also all but assured of a playoff spot. But with their loss to Rajasthan Royals, they slipped to 3rd place. This means if they don’t win their last match against KKR, they will not be in Qualifier 1.

Lucknow Supergiants had earlier beaten Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous IPL 2022 match by 75 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. A half-century from Quinton de Kock along with Avesh Khan’s three-wicket haul powered LSG to a comprehensive victory by 75 runs as they successfully defended their total of 176.

Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 24 runs to move to the second spot in the points table. Trent Boult’s quick strikes with the new ball hurt Lucknow early before Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda threatened with their solid half-century stand. The latter did score his fourth fifty in IPL 2022, but his efforts weren’t enough as Lucknow was restricted to 154/8 in 20 overs.

Earlier in the match, Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with 41 while Devdutt Padikkal blazed away to an 18-ball 39 as Rajasthan Royals posted 178 for six against Lucknow Super Giants. Skipper Sanju Samson made 32 off 24 balls after he opted to bat. Ravi Bishnoi was the most successful bowler for LSG, picking 2/31 in four overs.

KL Rahul has four fifty-plus scores in 12 innings, including two centuries against Mumbai Indians. Lucknow Super Giants have also found a solution to their No. 3 problem, with Deepak Hooda registering scores of 34, 52, 41, and 27 in their last four games, and being involved in three partnerships over 80 with either Quinton de Kock or KL Rahul at the other end. One of the main concerns is the form of Marcus Stoinis, who has looked a bit off-color so far in this IPL.

KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, and Deepak Hooda lead the batting charts for LSG with 459, 355, and 347 runs respectively. They are followed by Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya, who have 161 and 158 runs respectively. But the duo have been short of runs in recent games.

In his 10 appearances so far for LSG, Jason Holder has picked up two or more wickets on four occasions, ending up with three-wicket hauls twice. He is currently the second-highest wicket-taker for the side, with his 13 wickets only bettered by Avesh Khan’s 16. But Jason Holder has also leaked runs, having conceded 334 in 35.3 overs.

His economy rate of 9.40 is the second most expensive for LSG among those who have bowled more than 10 overs. Jason Holder’s contributions with the bat have also been limited – 57 runs off 42 balls in the seven innings that he has batted, with a highest of 16.

KL Rahul has been Mr. Consistent of IPL in the last couple of seasons, scoring over 500 runs in each of the last four editions. LSG would want their skipper back in the 2018 form though, the season where he had scored 659 runs at 54.91 at a strike rate of 158.41.

The right-handed batsman was picked as a draft player by the team. Last season, he was part of Punjab Kings. He scored 626 runs in 13 IPL 2021 games. He has amassed 469 runs in 13 IPL 2022 games averaging 42.64 including successive tons against Mumbai. The Lucknow skipper KL Rahul is the team’s leading run-getter so far this season.
